Position Quality Engineer
Location Warrendale, PA
Duration (180) days (6 months) to start expansion to be made by Boeing as needed.
Frequency (40) hours per week; (5) days per week (8) hours per day.
Compensation: $45/hr
Any special requirements As this is an SFI, it could end up being long term. The SFI clock resets if Boeing receives a bad shipset (within a 90 day period).
Job Description:
- The quality engineer shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform quality assurance methodologies and audits of processes on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
- Parts will be audited to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications.
- The QE will be required to report findings and OFIs directly to the customer via web application.
Requirements:
- Candidate must have practical experience performing audits, non-confirmance reviews, RCCA, CIPA methodologies on parts and processes for complex machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
- The audits and methodologies will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard.
- Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs).
- The candidate must have experience auditing the using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers.
- Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 standard and knowledge is required.
- Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing with proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Candidate should be computer savvy and own a laptop for this assignment.
Quality Engineering Deliverables:
- Review and deep dive of all work instructions to be in compliance with specifications and contracted build requirements.
- Provide feedback and instructions on how to correct any deficiencies.
- Validate and improve inspection methods, some changes have been incorporated.
